About Our School

The Industrial Arts Institute-Northern Michigan’s Premier Welding School, is dedicated to the mission of developing and inspiring a noble workforce through time-honored training, connecting talent to skilled trades industries. IAI, licensed by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO), a Veteran-approved training facility and a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization offers premier, comprehensive welding & advanced metal fabrication programs that prepare students for successful and rewarding careers in the industry. IAI takes a hands-on, project-based approach to its welding trainings, taught by industry experts with deep industry knowledge and experience. Our employer model, fast track programs, build comprehensive welding and fabrication skill sets and produces workforce ready employees.  IAI programs provide students with the support, knowledge and hands-on application to become qualified and employable in the welding industry.
