About Our School

The Industrial Arts Institute is Northern Michigan’s leading welding school, committed to developing and inspiring a skilled workforce through traditional training methods that connect talented individuals to the trades. As a licensed institution by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, a veteran-approved training facility, and a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, IAI offers exceptional welding and advanced metal fabrication programs designed to prepare students for fulfilling careers in the industry. With a hands-on, project-based approach led by industry experts with extensive experience, our fast track programs equip students with comprehensive welding and fabrication skills, making them ready for the workforce. At IAI, we provide students with the support, knowledge, and practical experience necessary to become qualified and successful professionals in the welding industry.
