(ONAWAY, MI.) The Industrial Arts Institute (IAI) in Onaway, Michigan, recently received a $25,000 Community Investment Grant from local energy transportation company Enbridge.

The funds will be used to modernize IAI’s welder and training module equipment to meet state-of-the-art manufacturing standards and provide students with hands-on training and career development opportunities.

IAI’s Executive Director; Mark Dombroski applauded the investment in Michigan’s future. “We are proud to partner with Enbridge to connect students with workforce training opportunities,” said Dombroski. “These are the students who will help meet the evolving needs of the region’s welding & manufacturing industry.”

Dombroski shared that IAI’s hands-on, project-based approach to educational programs provides expert faculty support with deep industry experience. The fast-track, intensive courses build useful skillsets for students, as well as produce workforce-ready employees who are in high demand and highly compensated.
