Industrial Arts Institute (IAI), a division of Moran Iron Works (MIW), is honored to announce the key note speaker for graduation of the 5th Cohort of students of the Comprehensive Industrial Welding Course CIW 100, Mr. Jimmy Greene, CEO/President of the Association of Builders and Contractors (ABC) and a new member of the Industrial Arts Institute Board of Directors. ABC advocates, educates and trains for over 300 builders and contractors in 28 counties. Mr. Greene is also the Former Public Policy Regional Representative for The National Federation Of Independent Business, was also the Founder , Owner, & CEO of Total Solutions Group in Saginaw, a firm specializing in Telecommunications & Technology Project Consulting. He also founded I’m Next; an online athletic apparel company.
His involvement in numerous civic and charity organizations is extensive. He is a graduate of: The Michigan Political Leadership Program, Leadership Saginaw County, Great Lakes Bay Region Leadership and One Thousand Leaders. His passionate initiative is bringing Skilled Trades Training access & opportunities to communities lacking the resources.
He founded: The Saginaw County African American Leadership Training Institute for young men. They’ve graduated over 110 African-American men & women and out of it was born The Hispanic Leadership Institute, and the Junior SVAALTI Group
Jimmy was appointed by the State Senate Majority Leader to the Saginaw Promise Zone Authority and served on the Board of Directors for 4 years raising funds to send Saginaw Public School graduates to college free.
In addition to the IAI Board of Directors, Jimmy serves on the Board of Directors for Midland Tomorrow, Midland County College & Completion Access Program, The Great Lakes Bay Region Early Childhood Development Initiative, The Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance Board of Directors, Hidden Harvest – Ambassador for The Underground Railroad Men Against Domestic Violence, is a volunteer for the Great Lakes Bay Region YWCA’s Women’s Empowerment Series & Celebrity Dancer in the Swingshift Dance Event benefitting the YWCA.
Jimmy is politically active at the Local, State & Federal level, the founder and past president of the Michigan Black Republican Party and The Rockefeller Republican Center for Public Policy.

Born and raised in Flint, Michigan: a graduate of Flint Southwestern High School he attended Washtenaw Community College, Eastern Michigan University and the College of Banking & Finance. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity is married and the father of 6 beautiful children & 2 beautiful granddaughters.
The Industrial Arts Institute graduation ceremony for Cohort 5 is Friday, April 15, 2016 at 3:30pm at the school. The next Comprehensive Industrial Welding Course is forming now. Class will begin on May 2, 2016.
