ACADEMIC EVALUATION & RECORD KEEPING

GRADING

Students will be evaluated and graded in the following areas:

1. Welding/ Fabrication /Blueprint Reading and Applied Welder Math Skills: An assessment of students’ proficiency in various welding techniques and processes, evaluated in accordance with American Welding Society (AWS) standards. Additionally, students will undertake written and application tests, as well as knowledge assessments, upon completing each training module.

2. Work Ethic: Evaluation of work ethic will encompass parameters such as attendance, attitude, participation, maintenance of the learning environment, adherence to safety protocols, cooperation with peers, and completion of assignments.

This structured assessment framework is designed to ensure that each student is adequately prepared and qualified for their future pursuits in the welding industry.

GRADING POINT SYSTEM

Grading Scale:

Above 96.99%: Points 4.0 (A+)

– Between 93% and 96.99%: Points 3.9 (A)

– Between 90% and 92.99%: Points 3.7 (A)

– Between 86% and 89.99%: Points 3.33 (B+)

– Between 83% and 85.99%: Points 3.0 (B)

– Between 80% and 82.99%: Points 2.7 (B)

– Between 77% and 79.99%: Points 2.0 (C)

Students are required to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (C) and must complete all coursework, tests, and skill assessments to graduate with a certificate of achievement in the CIWF500 course.

A failure in the CIWF500 program modules or an early withdrawal will necessitate that the student retake all of the curriculum.

EVALUATION OF STUDENT PROGRESS AND RECORD KEEPING

The Institute asserts that an effective evaluation system is crucial for students to achieve success in meeting the training objectives of the CIWF100 course. Regular evaluations and progress reports will provide continuous assessment of student performance, informing both students and instructors. Evaluations will focus on ability in established standards and include both summative and formative assessments, such as unit tests, quizzes, projects, and final qualifications. The significance of each evaluation will reflect the students’ performance in relation to course standards. Grades and qualification records will be kept in Orbund, our student information system. The final transcript will be issued upon successful program completion and recorded in Orbund.
