Basic Welding

Course Description

This course is 30 hours of hands-on training that will provide students an opportunity to develop knowledge and skill application in various welding processes. The course will cover an introduction to the basics of welding safety, oxy fuel cutting, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) 

Full leather, steel-toed boots are the responsibility of the student and must be worn in order to work in the Industrial Arts Institute Welding Lab.

An auto-darkening welding helmet, leather welding gloves and a welding jacket are required for this class.  Required items are available for purchase at IAI as a kit for $250.00

This training is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping, throughout the training period.  While performing the training, the student will be required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
