Onaway, MI: Industrial Arts Institute (IAI), is honored to announce the Keynote Speaker for the 13th Cohort of students of the Comprehensive Industrial Welding Course, Michigan House of Representative, Triston Cole.

State Rep. Triston Cole was first elected to serve the 105th District in the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2014. He serves as vice chair of the Government Operations Committee. He also serves on the House Fiscal Governing Committee, and Transportation Committee. Triston followed his passion for the outdoors from an early age, becoming an experienced hunting guide while a teen and spending 15 years in the hunting and guiding industry. In 2000, he and his wife started a family farm from scratch and became a small-business owner whose farm provides fruits, vegetables, and shiitake mushrooms for local direct market sales. When not working the land, Triston was a semi-truck driver and agricultural teacher.

 “It is with great excitement and pleasure that I have the opportunity to address the  Industrial Art Institute’s- thirteenth graduating class of Welders & Fabricators”, states State Representative Cole.”

The graduating class of professional trades’ men and tradeswomen have completed a 19 week Comprehensive Industrial -structural and pipe welding course with intense hands on training provided by IAI’s Certified Welding Educators/Inspectors in multiple disciplines of welding and fabricating. All students will graduate as certified welders with several industry credentials to begin their welding careers.
